Revival Grants Program
The Revival Grants program is designed to help homeowners in New Orleans' oldest neighborhoods maintain their historic properties. Eligible homeowners can receive up to $20,000 for minor exterior repairs, especially those cited for violations by the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission (HDLC). Examples of eligible repairs include replacing inappropriate materials used for doors, windows, shutters, and fences and repairing or replacing damaged gutters, siding, and trim work.
Historic Home Repair Grant Program
In partnership with the City of New Orleans, the PRC manages the Historic Home Repair Grant Program. This initiative provides grants of up to $20,000 to eligible homeowners for minor exterior repairs to historic homes within Orleans Parish. Funded by the City of New Orleans, the program aims to preserve the city's historic architecture and assist homeowners in maintaining their properties.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for these grant programs, homeowners must meet specific criteria, including:
Residing in Orleans Parish.
Owning a home that is 50 years old or older.
Meeting low- to moderate-income household requirements as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Owning only one property.
For the Revival Grants program, homeowners must also reside in an HDLC district that levies fines and has been cited for violations by the HDLC.
How to Apply
Interested homeowners who meet the eligibility criteria can apply by completing an online application or contacting the PRC directly at (504) 581-7032. The PRC evaluates applicants based on need and the scope of work required.
